The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has announced the dates of IPL 2021 on March 7, 2021. IPL 2021 is all set to schedule in India. The season will begin on April 9, 2021, in Chennai. The defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will clash against each other in 1st match of IPL 2021. The BCCI has selected certain venues for IPL 2021 keeping Corona Virus pandemic in mind. The venues for IPL 2021 are Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. The playoffs matches and the final of IPL 2021 will be hosted by Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. A total of 56 league matches will be played between eight city-based franchise teams. The interesting thing about this edition is that all matches will be played at neutral venues, no team will have any match at their home venue. Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata will host 10 league matches each while Delhi and Ahmedabad will host 8 league matches each. There might be two new teams in IPL 2022 next year. We can see total 10 team participating in 2022 IPL T20. This will be the second time when 10 team will be participating in this tournament.

All franchises have done changes in their squad in IPL 2021 auction and the fans and franchise will be hoping for their key players to show extraordinary performances in IPL 2021. All eyes will be on Chris Morris, the most expensive player of IPL 2021 and in IPL history. The Rajasthan franchise has shown an enormous amount of trust in the skills of Chris Morris. The Bangalore franchise will be hoping for match-winning knocks from Glenn Maxwell. Glen Maxwell had a very bad IPL 2020 season. He was released by Punjab Kings in auction for IPL 2021 and RCB has bought him for over 14 crore INR. Dawid Malan was also an interesting deal by Punjab Kings. The Punjab franchise has bought Dawid Malan on the base price and it was a steal deal in terms of business. He is currently at the top of ICC T20 batsman rankings.
BCCI has also allowed fans to visit the stadium to cheer up their favourite team. Only a limited number of spectators will be allowed in the stadium by management. The tickets for the stadium will be available online on Bookmyshow and each team has their own website where they post the procedures or details to book tickets of their team match. The cost price of tickets varies from stadium to stadium and also from stand to stand. Each ticket holder will have to show the slip of his ticket at the time of entry into the stadium. Smoking and alcohol consumption will not be allowed by stadium management. Make sure to read all the instructions before booking the ticket online.
Fans will also be able to enjoy the live action of every match on Star Sports Network. The live stream of every match will be available on the Hotstar application. Jio users can enjoy the live-action on the Jio TV application. The matches will be telecasted live at 7:30 PM IST. On Saturdays and Sundays, doubleheader matches will take place and the live coverage will be available from 3:30 PM IST.

The 1st match of IPL 2021 will be played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 9 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Delhi Capitals will play their first match of IPL 2021 against Chennai Super Kings on April 10 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Kolkata Knight Riders will go against Sunrisers Hyderabad on their first match of IPL 2021 at MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 11. Rajasthan Royals will play their first match of IPL 2021 against Punjab Kings on April 12 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. No team will have any league match at their home ground. This new rule by the board is very interesting and the neutral venues will provide the same amount of opportunity for both the teams to show their game.
