He made his first class debut against South zone during the year of 2006. He made a total of 53 in first innings and 21 in the second innings. Jadeja is called as Jaddu by his teammates. He made his first U19 appearance for India at the age of 16. He was also selected for 2006 U19 world cup again because of his performance, he was the vice captain of the team. He caught the selectors attention by his performance in both batting and bowling. He scored 739 runs and 42 wickets that is the reason why he was selected to represent Indian team against Sri lanka. He got his five wicket haul in test cricket against Sri lanka. He is yet to score centuries in all forms of cricket and his highest run was 331 runs in first class cricket.
