Rohit Sharma was born in a Telugu family in Nagpur, where his early days were spent at Lady of Vailakanni High in Mumbai. He excelled all the cricket tournaments after that he got selected in Under-20 for Mumbai.
Sharma made his debut for West zone against the Central zone in March 2006 in that he made unbeaten 142 for 123 balls. He scored his maiden ODI century (114) against Zimbabwe on May 28, 2010,these performances brought this young cricketer to the attention of the fans of Indian cricket. Sharma was the best performer of IPL 2008 where he scored 404 runs at an average of 36.72.
He is a typical middle order batsman but those position changed during 2012 for matches against England, where he opened the bating and gave a good start which India required on that particular match to chase down a large total of 312 .
