Kolkata Knight Riders is the domestic cricket team of IPL for Kolkata and is also abbreviated as KKR. The team is based in Kolkata, West Bengal and possesses one the best Indian Stadiums Eden Gardens as their home ground. The team was formed in the year 2008 along with the inaugural date of the IPL and owned by Red Chillies Entertainment which is the company of bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan including Juhi Chawla and Jai Mehta (Mehta Group) as partners.
