Over the last couple of years, India performance in T20 matches has improved manifold. Not only this, with India reaching second spot in world T20 ranking, there is no doubt that the tri-color nation is one of strongest contenders to win the ICC World T20 2016. In the previous editions of T20 World Cup, India lacked the consistency in the middle order but ever since Virat Kohli cemented his number three spot, there is no look back. With each passing year, his batting is becoming better and better offering solid partnership in the middle of the innings immediately after the dismissal of our opening pair or as and when the team needed.
Until now, India have recorded two century-run partnership for the second wicket in T20 World Cup and coincidentally on both occasions, the batting duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli was out in the middle. Both these partnerships came at ICC World T20 2014 in Dhaka. Also, there are five plus 50-run partnerships for the second wicket for India in T20 World Cup, and again Virat Kohli effected three out of these. This clearly reflects the good performance of Virat Kohli on consistent basis over the last few years in a row.
