The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is like Indian Premier League (IPL) which was inaugurated back in 2016 by Pakistan Cricket Board. PSL is a T20 cricket league where six city-based franchise teams take part to win the title. The Pakistan Board is all set for PSL 2021 edition. The tournament will commence from February 20 where international capped, uncapped and overseas players will compete against each other. The format of the tournament will remain the same as like their previous seasons. Teams will compete against each other in the league stage and then top 4 teams will qualify for playoffs. The six teams which will compete against each other in the league are Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars. Karachi Kings are the defending champions of PSL 2021. Kamran Akmal is the leading run-scorer in PSL and Wahab Riaz is the leading wicket-taker.
The tournament is much important for players as well as the Board as it has been popular in the country and youth. Each team has young talented players with some international players also. It is a tournament that has played a vital role in the development of young players in the country who are capable to change the match in limited over edition internationally also. The past seasons of this tournament have been good and that is why the organizers are confident to repeat the history even though the number of spectators will be much limited.
PSL 2021 Venues
The PCB has announced 2 venues for Pakistan Super League due to pandemic Corona Virus. The first half of the tournament will be held at National Stadium, Karachi and the second half or knockout matches will take place at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Only 20 per cent of the total capacity of the crowd is allowed by the board. As per the experts, there will be different pitches used for different matches on the same ground to maintain the spirit of the game.

The match will be telecasted in Europe as well as gulf countries. The PSL 2021 will be telecasted live on Sony Ten 2 and Sony Ten 2 HD network in India. Astro Cricket HD will telecast the tournament in Malaysia. Etisalat will show live coverage in the UAE. In the US and Canada, PSL will be available on Willow TV.
