The 11th T20 match of the Pakistan Super League was fought between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars at National Stadium, Karachi on 28 Feb 2021. Lahore Qalandars won the toss and decided to field first on the batting friendly pitch. Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam were sent on the ground and Shaheen Shah Afridi got the new ball in hand to open the attack.
The start was not good for the Kings and the team had lost the 3 wickets at the low score of 37 runs. But the opener Sharjeel was still on the crease and handled the situation very well with Mohammad Nabi. Lahore was looking to break the partnership between Sharjeel and Nabi and the job was completed by David Wiese in 12.1 overs. Sharjeel played very well and contributed crucial 64 runs from 39 balls for his team. Finally, Karachi had put the total of 186 runs at the end of the 20 overs. Mohammad Nabi also performed well and scored 57 runs from 35 balls with four 4s and three 6s. The Qalandars got the target of 187 runs from 120 balls to win the match. Shaheen Shah Afridi did the well with the ball and took 3 wickets of Karachi.
Fakhar Zaman and Sohail Akhtar, the captain himself came out to the middle to chase the target and Mohammad Amir got the responsibility to deliver the first over. The Qalandars did not get a good start and unfortunately, the captain, Sohail Akhtar was dismissed for Duck as run out in the first over. Then Joe Denly came to join Zaman but he was also sent back by Amir on the very next ball. Lahore had lost the 2 wickets consecutively in the first over and came under pressure. Ben Dunk at the number 5th position handled the situation with Fakhar Zaman and built up the crucial partnership of 119 runs for the third wicket that helped Lahore to achieve the target. Fakhar played an important role in the winning team and made 83 runs and Ben Dunk also supported well and contributed 57 runs for his team.
Lahore Qalandars won the 11th match of PSL 2021 by 6 wickets with 4 balls remaining and Shaheen Shan Afridi was the Man of the Match for his brilliance bowling performance.
