In the 13th T20 match of the Pakistan Super League 2021, Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings faced each other at the National Stadium, Karachi on 3 March 2021. The Kings made a change and took in Abbas Afridi in place of Waqas. The Zalmi also played with three changes and included Ammad Butt, Md Irfan, and Ravi Bopara in place of Mujeeb, Imam, and Wahab. Karachi Kings had won the toss and invited the opposition to bat first because chasers were dominating the opposition.
Kamran Akmal and Tom Kohler-Cadmore were sent out to the middle to open and Mohammad Amir got the new ball in hand. Peshawar did not get a good start and lost their 3 wickets at the low score of 34 runs only. Kamran Akmal, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, and Shoaib Malik were sent back by the Kings bowlers before the end of the mandatory Powerplay. Then Ravi Bopara at the number 5 position with Sherfane Rutherford built up a crucial partnership of 82 runs that helped the Zalmi to score 188 runs at the loss of 5 wickets after 20 overs. Ravi Bopara played well and made 58 runs, on the other hand, Sherfane Rutherford also supported him well and contributed importantly 46 runs. Karachi Kings got the target of 189 runs from 120 balls to win the 13th match of PSL 2021.
Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam came out to the middle to chase the target and Mohammad Imran got the responsibility to open the attack with the new ball. Mohammad Imran did well and took the first breakthrough of Sharjeel Khan in the very first ball of the second inning. After the dismissal, Joe Clarke came to join Azam but could not stay longer and was sent back by Mohammaed Irfan at the score of 22 runs. The Kings had lost 2 wickets at 22 runs only and needed a partnership. Babar Azam and Mohammad Nabi did that job and made a crucial partnership of 118 runs that aided Karachi to achieve the target in 19.3 overs. Babar Azam looked awesome with the bat and struck unbeaten 77 runs for his team. Mohammad Nabi also played a key role in the victory of the Kings and contributed 67 runs.
Karachi Kings won the 13th T20 match of PSL 2021 by 6 wickets with 3 balls remaining and Mohammaed Nabi was named Man of the Match.
