The ICC (International Cricket Council) has confirmed that the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will commence on 16 October 2022 and will conclude on 13 November 2022. Australia, the T20 World Cup champion in 2021, will host all the matches of ICC T20 World Cup 2022. This will be the 7th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and the first edition was held in 2007 where India lifted the T20 World Cup trophy. Total 12 teams have qualified for this main event i.e. India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Scotland, Namibia.

This year T20 world cup 22 will start from 16th October and the T20 world cup final match will be played at MCG.
The tournament will comprise group matches between qualifiers, then the Super 12 round will be played, and then the knock-out round. First-round will comprise 12 group matches then there will be 30 T20 internationals in the super 12 round then the top 2 teams will face the other’s group top 2 teams in the semi-final. Thus there will be a total of 45 T20I matches including finals in the 7th edition of the T20 World Cup.
The tournament’s first round will start with the first match between Sri Lanka and Namibia on 16 Oct 2020 at Kardinia Park Stadium, Geelong, and ends on 21 Oct with the match between Scotland and Zimbabwe at Bellerive Oval, Hobart.
The second round of the game i.e, the Super 12 stage will begin on 22 October with the match between New Zealand and Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, and concluded on 6 November 2022 with the match India vs Zimbabwe at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne.

Teams of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup
In ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, the teams are divided into Group A and B in which Group A will have Sri Lanka, Namibia and two other teams are still to be declared, on the other hand, Scotland and West Indies are kept in Group B with two others TBD teams. The super stage will comprise the top 8 ranking teams in T20 World Cup 2021 and the rest 4 teams will be the winners and runners-up from the first round. Thus, these teams are placed in Group 1 and Group 2 and thus each group will have 6 teams for the Super 12 competition. Group 1 will have Australia, New Zealand, England, and Afghanistan, on the other hand, Group 2 will consist of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa.
