Highest 10th Wicket Partnership in T20 World Cup

It’s more or less a formality when batsmen come to bat for the 10th wicket. Either they come to bat with only a few balls to play or when the team loses a lot of its batsmen too soon. In World T20 championship, there are only two occasions when batting pairs successfully put more than 20-run stands for the last wicket. However, in both cases, the batting teams collapsed drastically and put a very nominal total (around 100-run) on scoreboard.

In 2007 World T20, Indian duo of RP Singh & S. Sreesanth, added useful and unbroken partnership of 17 runs when the team needed it most. On losing 9 wickets for just 163 runs, Sreesanth and RP Singh came out to bat with just 8 balls to spare. But they completely transformed the scorecard taking it to 180 at the end of 20 overs. These two batsmen amassed 17 runs in just 8 balls at a brilliant strike rate of 200 plus. In most occasions, tenth wicket stand couldn’t fetch more runs in any world T20 cup. A batting team has scored double digit runs only 12 times for the 10th wicket partnership in the history of T20 world cup since 2007.
