Delhi Capitals, previously called Delhi Daredevils, is one of the consistent teams that take part in IPL on behalf of Delhi. In its IPL existence, the squad has made the knockout stages on six occasions, with their finest performance happening in the 2020 season, when they came in second place behind the Mumbai Indians. They have become Semi-finalists in the first two seasons of IPL. Power hitters like Virendra Sehwag, Chris Morris, and Tilakratane Dilshan have served the team and added some of the fastest innings of 50 runs in the past. He did this feat from just 17 balls while performing against Gujarat Lions on 27 April 2016. In the 23rd match of the IPL 2016, Gujarat Lions and Delhi Capitals faced each other in Delhi where Gujarat added a total of 172 on the scoreboard. In reply, Delhi Capitals did not receive a good start from its opening batters and lost 3 quick wickets at 16 runs only. On the other hand, Chris Morris showed an outstanding show by hitting unbeaten 82 runs from 32 balls with four 4s and eight 6s at a strike rate of 256.25 but it was not enough and Delhi lost the match by just 1 run. But Chirs Morris was named Man of the Match for his incredible 82 runs.

Rishabh Pant, a former captain of Delhi Capitals, is standing at the number 2 position for hitting the fastest 50 in IPL for Delhi Capitals. He struck the fastest 50 runs from 18 balls while playing against Mumbai Indians in 2019. Mumbai and Delhi faced each other in the 3rd match of the IPL 2019 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai where Delhi got the opportunity to bat first and added 213 runs on the scoreboard. Rishabh Pant performed incredibly and contributed 78 runs for just 27 balls with seven 4s and seven 6s at a strike rate of 288.88. This helped them to cross the milestone of 200+ and won the match by 37 runs. Rishabh Pant was also named Man of the Match and Most Valuable Player for his match-winning strike.

In reply, Prithvi Shaw started well and struck match-winning 82 runs from 41 deliveries only which helped them to reach the target in just 16.3 overs and won the match by 7 wickets. Prithvi Shaw was named Man of the Match and Most Valuable Player for his incredible performance.

Virendra Sehwag holds 4th place in the list of fastest 50 in IPL for Delhi Capitals. He struck his fastest 50 in IPL from just 20 balls while playing against Rajasthan Royals in 2012. Rajasthan and Delhi faced each other in the 43rd match of the IPL 2012 in Jaipur where Rajasthan got the chance to bat first and added 141 runs on the scoreboard, thus setting a target of 142 runs for Delhi. In reply, Delhi Delhi did not face any hurdle in achieving the target since Virendra Sehwag started well and struck 73 runs from just 38 balls with twelve 4s and one 6s at a strike rate of 192.10.
- Marcus Stonis
Marcus Stonis, an Australian all-round performer, is sitting at the number 5th position for making the fastest 50 in IPL for Delhi Capitals. He did this feat from 20 balls while playing against Kings XI Punjab in 2020. Delhi and Punjab faced each other for the 2nd encounter of IPL 2020 in Dubai (DSC) where Delhi added 157 runs on the scoreboard while batting first and thus set a target of 158 for Punjab. When Punjab came out to chase the target, they could make only 157 runs, and the match was tied, then the Delhi Capitals were declared as the winner by one-over eliminator rule. Marcus Stonis was Man of the Match for his match-winning effort with both bat and ball.
