Fastest 50 in IPL For KKR

Owned by Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, Kolkata Knight Riders has lifted the trophy of IPL twice (2012 & 2014). Kolkata has achieved this feat all because of their powerful batters who supported their team at the difficult time and changed the dimensions of the match by hitting some wonderful innings with few balls. There are several examples of batsmen achieving the fastest fifty, but Pat Cummins' 56 runs off 15 balls versus Mumbai in an IPL 2022 match holds the record for the fastest 50 for KKR. Sunil Narine, Yusuf Pathan, Andre Russell, and several more players are also listed on the record.

So, let's check out some of the fastest 50s in IPL by Kolkata Knight Riders:

1. Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins, an all-round performer of the Australian Team, holds the record of making the fastest 50 in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. He made this effort from just 14 balls while performing against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022. Kolkata and Mumbai met each other for the 14th encounter of the IPL in Pune on 06 April 2022 where Mumbai got the chance to bat first and they added 161 runs on the scoreboard. In reply, Pat Cummins at the 7th position struck a total of unbeaten 56 runs from just 15 balls that helped them to reach the target in 16 overs only. Pat Cummins not only did well with the bat but he also took 2 wickets, and so he was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance.

2. Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine is standing at the number 2 position for hitting the quickest 50 in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. He did this feat from 15 balls while playing against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kolkata Knight Riders met each other for the 46th match of the IPL 2017 on 7 May in Bangalore where they struck 158 runs and gave a target of 159 to Kolkata. From the beginning, Sunil Narine with Chris Lynn looked in awesome form and dominated RCB bowlers by hitting 54 runs from 17 balls. RCB could not defend the target and lost the match by 6 wickets in just 15.1 overs. Sunil Narine was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance with bat and ball.

3. Yusuf Pathan

Yusuf Pathan is sitting at the number 3 position for making the fastest fifty in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. He achieved this feat from just 15 balls while playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders saw each other in the 54th match of the IPL 2014 on 24 May in Eden Gardens. SRH batted first and set a target of 161 runs in 20 overs for KKR. In reply, KKR got an average start and then Yusuf Pathan came 2nd down and struck aggressively 72 runs from 22 balls with five 4s and seven 6s at a strike rate of 327.27. This effort assisted Kolkata to reach the target and win the match by 4 wickets in 14.2 overs. Yusuf Pathan was named Man of the Match for his incredible effort. 

4. Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine again made a place in the list of making the fattest 50 in IPL for Kolkata. He holds the 4th position for making the quickest fifty in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. He took just 17 balls to make the quickest fifty against in 2018. In the 3rd match of IPL 2018 in Eden Garden, RCB and KKR faced each other where RCB gave the target of 177 runs to KKR, and KKR did not face any hurdle while chasing and achieved the target in 18.5 overs. Sunil contributed a total of 50 runs from 19 balls with four 4s and five 6s. He was also named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance with bat and ball. 

5. Andre Russell

Andre Russell, the right-arm all-rounder of West Indies, is standing at the number 5th position for making the fastest 50 in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders. He achieved this feat while performing against Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2009. Punjab and Kolkata faced each other in the 44th match of the IPL 2009 in Eden Garden where Punjab batted first and added a total of 183 runs on the scoreboard. In reply, Kolkata got an average start but Andre Russell at the number 6th position made an incredible effort with the bat by striking 51 runs from 21 balls with five 4s and four 6s that helped them to win the match by 1 wicket in 19.5 overs. Andre Russell was named Man of the Match for his match-winning innings.
