Bert Sutcliffe Oval was initially known as Bil Oval but in the year 2000, the ground was renamed after a very famous New Zealand batsman. This ground has not only hosted the first class matches but it also hosts a number of one day internationals as well. It's one of the beautiful designed cricket grounds with excellent architecture making it more appealing and well furnished. Even the domestic teams of New Zealand are allowed to play at this ground and practice as well. Recently, this venue has been chosen for the ICC World Cup qualifying series 2014 and so the association is working on the pitch and other arrangements.
