The third one day international between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe was also played at the Queen Sports club in Bulawayo city on 20th October 2015. It was a sort of comeback contest for the home team after ceding the lead to the tourists in the series. Zimbabwe thumped Afghanistan by 6 wickets in the third one day and took a 2-1 lead. Home team won the toss and put the travelers into bat on a juicy wicket however the tourists started strongly with Mohammad SHAHZAD and NOOR ALI ZADRAN scoring 30 and 56 runs respectively. Both were solid in their approach and hit all round the wicket with 51 run stand however SHAHAZAD was cleaned up by Sean Williams in the 13.5 over. The hosts kept an extremely tight line and length never letting the opponent batsmen get off the hook.

MOHAMMAD NABI, the century maker from the previous match too joined the party with a scintillating knock of 42 runs off 54 balls however after his departure at the score of 138 did not allow the tourists to break free and post a big score in spite of heroics down the order by DAWLAT ZADRANB hitting quick fire 23 off 19 balls and SHAFIQULLAH notching up solid 35 runs.

Zimbabwe bowlers were right on the money with TS CHISORO clipping away two wickets for a miserly spell of 40 runs from 10 over. It was a well all round performance from Zimbabwe limiting the tourists to 223 runs off 50 over.

The score was below par at the pitch however Zimbabwe did not have a great start with the opener CHIBHABHA being dismissed cheaply for handling the ball for a score of 18 runs. SC Williams joined the opener R MUTUMBAMI and they both laid the foundation of victory with 39 run partnership till the latter was dismissed by AMIR HAMZA who incidentally was the highest wicket taker from Afghanistan in the match. E CHIGUMBURA also contributed lower down the order with 49 runs of 62 delivers and saw Zimbabwe home with one ball to spare. The home team won the match by 6 wickets in an enthralling encounter. R MUTUMBAMI was adjudged man of the match for his amazing knock at the opening slot.
