The magnificent field broke grounds in 1890. It was inaugurated in 1893. Further it was renovated in 1965 for the first time in its history, and was expanded in 1986. The legal owner of the Queens Sports ground is the City if Bulawayo. The club is operated by Bulawayo City Council. No works is allowed to commence without the permission of the city council members.
