Richmond Mutumbami the young wicket-keeper batsman from Zimbabwe is a batting force standing behind the wickets. He is another young cricketer coming from the schools of Zimbabwe. This young talented keeper is a right handed batsman and a right arm off-break bowler. He was born on 11th June, 1989 and made his first class debut at the age of 17. His cricketing carrier was a tough one as a young player he was unable to maintain a good average in the first class cricket. His struggled continued for the first few seasons of his carrier but later as the franchise system came in. the young player started to grow in stature. In this system he became a regular player in the Southern Rocks team and soon became an important part of it.

In the year 2010 he manage to maintain an average of 30 in the first class cricket. The days started to change for him as he became the player to score highest runs in the domestic Logan cup. This was an achievement by this young player in the year 2012-13 tournament. His mark got the reward soon as he was called up for the National side against Bangladesh. It was a late call up as just after the Logan cup he was not called up for the tour against West Indies.

The first call for the player was because of his good form and injury of others. These two points acted well in giving him the place. His performance behind the stumps was outstanding but with the bat he was not good. In the second match though his performance with the bat improved and now he is a well-known player in the Zimbabwe side. His first ODI half century came against Afghanistan where he scored 64 runs.
