One of the matches played at Ahmedabad was won by the West Indies by 16 runs. Put into bat the touring side amassed 260 runs in the allotted 50 over. It was a wonderful performance by Samuels and Dinesh Ramdin. Vinay Kumar bowled with accurate line and length picking up two wickets. Parthiv Patel was one of the main batsmen from India who replied in a blazing fashion and scored 39 runs. He ably supported Rohit Sharma who scored 95 runs off 100 balls. India was cruising along but they were behind the run rate. A huge partnership occurred between Rohit and Ashwin who also scored 31 runs off 64 balls. Ravi rampaul was the destroyer in chief who picked up 4 wickets. It was a wonderful match although the home side lost and the spectators were disappointed. There would be many more matches in the near future between both the sides that would set the pulse racing of the audiences.
