Sri Lanka will play 5 matches ODI series in England in the year 2016 after the test series are over. The matches will be held at Trent Bridge, Edgbaston, Bristol, London and Cardiff. Series will start from June 21 and it would continue till 02 July 2016. Last time when SRI LANKA took on the English in one day series at home, they won the matches by 5-2. It was a wonderful contest however TILAKRATNE DISHAN gave it a perfect parting shot for the home team. Winds have changed now as the SRI LANKAN middle order has retired and new players have moved into fit in their illustrious shoes. It is a job easier said than done.
The series will be marked by acrobatic fielding as both sides have some stupendous fielders in their ranks. Sri Lankan batting responsibilities will be managed by ANGELO Matthews however the captain is not himself in a great form. Moreover, he might find the moving ball not to his liking. At the top of the order, TILAKRATNE DILSHAN will launch his blazing innings however not much support is available. Probably LAHIRU THIRAMANNE should come at the top of the order to provide support and play long innings.
Ben stokes and Steven FINN would have their task cut out as they have to take early wickets. On the batting front EOIN MORGAN is in the form of his life along with Joe roots. They have the capability to strike big and pose huge totals. Inclusion of JOSE BUTLER as wicket keeper will bolster the fielding and it would also be complimented by amazing contribution of ALEX HALES. The player has the capacity to turn match on its head and win it for England single handedly. SRI Lanka has a slight upper hand in the series due to its formidable spin department.
