Sophia Gardens is a cricket stadium located in Cardiff, Wales in England. The stadium is most primarily used to host the cricket matches and has been the venue for the much known Ashes Series between England and Australia. The stadium was known as Sophia Gardens after the name of Lady Sophia Rawdon-Hastings as she provided the place to construct the stadium but nowadays stadium is owned by Cardiff City Council and is known as SWALEC Stadium. The stadium possesses a capacity of 15,643 spectators and the ends of this stadium are River Taff End and Cathedral Road End. The first ODI played on this ground was between Australia and England on May 20, 1999.
