The Lucknow Super Giants franchise represents Lucknow City in Indian Premier League and the club is captained by KL Rahul. As of 7 May 2023, the team is captain Krunal Pandya in place of KL Rahul who was ruled out of the IPL tournament because of injury. The LSG squad is coached by a former Zimbabwe skipper, Andy Flower. LSG was founded in 2021 before the commencing of the IPL 2022 and its official ownership is bought by RPSG group. - KL Rahul
KL Rahul is sitting at the top position for making the fastest century in IPL for Lucknow Super Giants. He achieved this feat in 56 balls while performing against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022. Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants stood against each other in Barbourne on 16 April for playing the 26th match of the IPL 2022. Mumbai Indians invited its opposition, LSG to bat first after winning the toss. When LSG came out with their two openers KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock, they gave a fantastic start and added 52 runs for the 1st wicket. After the dismissal of de Kock in 5.2 covers, KL Rahul handled the situation and took the inning to a total of 199 in 20 overs. KL Rahul played a vital role by hitting unbeaten 103 runs in 60 balls with nine 4s and five 6s at a strike rate of 171.66. In reply, Mumbai Indians could make only 181 runs in 20 overs and lost the match by 18 runs. Thus, KL Rahul was named Man of the Match and Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performance with the bat.

A South African wicketkeeper-batter, Quinton de Kock is standing in the 2nd position for making the fastest century in IPL for Lucknow Super Giants. He created this record from just 59 balls while performing against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022. In the 66th match of the IPL 2022, Lucknow and Kolkata faced each other at DY Patil ground on 18 May 2022. The Super Giants won the toss and decided to set the target for KKR. While batting first, Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul came out to the middle and added 210 runs without losing any wickets in 20 overs. KL Rahul added crucial unbeaten 68 runs from 51 balls whereas de Kock contributed mind blasting 140 runs in 70 deliveries by hitting ten 4s and ten 6s with a strike rate of 200.00 and remained not out. In reply, Kolkata Knight Riders lost 2 wickets very quickly but anyhow they tried well but could not achieve the target and fell behind 2 runs. Thus, LSG won the match by 2 runs and Quinton de Kock became Man of the Match and Most Valuable Player in that game.
