Indians dominate Bangladesh to reach the semi-final of the World Cup - Defending Champions India took their neighbors Bangladesh in the 2nd Quarter-final of the World Cup 2015. The Indians has been a force in this world cup as they won all their matches while Bangladesh emerged as a spirited team to knock England out and make it to the last 8 of the tournament. The Indians were favorites for the game but Bangladesh too had the slightest of the hopes. In this match after winnings the toss Indians decided to bat first.

Batting first the Indian openers started the innings smoothly. They scored runs at their will and it seemed the Indians will be batting Bangladesh out in the match. The match turned around in the 17th over when Shakib Al Hasan produced a magical delivery to trick Shikhar Dhawan out. He scored 30 runs before losing his wicket. The opening stand of 75 runs was broken. The biggest upset of the match came in the 18th over when Rubel Hossain took the prized wicket of Virat Kohli. Indians were in trouble at 79/2. Ajinkya Rahane partnered Rohit Sharma but in the 28th over he gave away his wicket to Taskin Ahmed as Indians found themselves at 115/3. The men in blue needed a partnership and Suresh Raina along with Rohit provided the same. They together took their team to a score of 237 in 44 overs. Raina lost his wicket after scoring 65 runs. The match gained momentum as Rohit completed his century and scored 137 runs before losing his wicket. In the end overs it was Ravindra Jadeja who scored 23 runs off 10 balls to take India to a score of 302 in 50 overs.

Bangladesh needed a good start in order to win it against an inform bowling line-up. Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes looked dangerous but Umesh Yadav struck 1st blood to take Iqbal at a score of 25 runs. Soon Imrul too lost his wicket in a mix-up while running. The Indians started to gain momentum and soon wickets started to tumble. Bangladesh was at 104/5 and no known batsmen were left for the team. Sabbir Rahman and Nasir Hossain was the top scorer for the team as they scored 30 and 35 runs respectively as Bangladesh was bowled out at 193 by Indians. Umesh Yadav took 4 wickets in the match and Rohit Sharma was named as the man of the match. With this win the Indians reached the Semi-finals of the world cup.
