The Caribbean Premier Tournament (CPLT20) is set to return for its ninth season in 2021. The Caribbean Premier League is a regional Twenty20 cricket league that takes place in the West Indies. The championship will take place in Saint Kitts and Nevis from August 26 to September 15, 2021, with all matches going to take place there. The tournament is a T20 style of games, which was so popular in 2020 that it drew a record audience of over 500 million viewers. Last year CPL T20 was started on August 18. Trinbago Knight Riders won the CPL 2020 championship against St Lucia Kings.
The full teams for the six clubs competing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2021) have been revealed. There will be no new CPL teams. This year, a total of 101 players have been selected for the event. Numerous overseas players will be there, including Mohammad Amir, Faf du Plessis, Chris Morris, and Shakib Al Hasan. Apart from the foreigners, the teams have a number of West Indies players such as Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, and others.
Smit Patel, a former India U19 World Cup winner in 2012, has been signed by the Barbados Tridents for the CPL 2021 season. In the shorter version of the game, he has a respectable record of success. In the domestic T20 tournament, he has 708 runs with a strike rate of 111.3 from 28 matches. It will be his first time in the CPL.
CPL 2021 Updates
Andre Russell from Jamaica Tallawahs scored fastest fifty of CPL 2021. This is also the fastest fifty in all season of CPL T20 combined.
Jamaica Tallawahs registered the biggest win of CPL T20 league. JT won by 120 runs against St Lucia Kings.

Jamaica Tallawahs
Rovman Powell is the captain of the team. Floyd Reifer will be the leading coach. Jamaica Tallawahs is owned by Kris Persaud.
St Lucia Zouks
Faf du Plessis will lead the team as a captain in CPL 2021. Andy Flower will be the head coach of St Lucia Zouks. This franchise is owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta, and Karan Paul. Rawl Lewis has been appointed as a team manager. Roddy Estwick and Donovan Miller will assist Andy Flower as an assistant coach.
Trinbago Knight Riders
Kieron Pollard will play the role of captain for Trinbago Knight Riders. Shah Rukh Khan and Jay Mehta own this CPL club. This team has won the title four times, i.e, in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020. The squad will enter the competition under the coaching of Brendon McCullum.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots
Rayad Emrit is the captain of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Simon Helmot will be the head coach of the team. Winning Willows Limited owns this franchise. Malolan Rangarajan will assist the head coach, Simon Helmot. This team has never been able to win a title in the history of CPL.
Barbados Tridents
Jason Holder is the captain of the Barbados Tridents for the upcoming season of CPL in 2021. Manish Patel (CMG Companies) is the owner of this team. Trevor Penney will be the head coach. The team has won two titles in CPL, first in 2014, and second in 2019.
Guyana Amazon Warriors
Nicholas Pooran will lead the team as a captain in CPL 2021. Johan Botha will be the head coach and Rayon Griffith will assist him. Dr. Ranjisinghi Ramroop is the owner of Guyana Amazon Warriors.

CPL T20 History
CPL 2013 (First Edition)
It was 2013 when this tournament came into inception. The first season of CPL was a huge success and a big hit for West Indian Cricket Board. In CPL 2013, the final was played against Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad. Jamaica Tallawahs had won the game by 7 wickets and had won the first CPL title. Jamaica Tallwahs had become the first champions of the league. Chris Gayle had scored good runs in the inaugural season of the league.
CPL 2014 (Second Edition)
After the first CPL season, the league became much more popular, and more international players joined it in the 2nd edition. The final of CPL 2014 was played between Barbados Tridents and Guyana Amazon Warriors at Warner Park, St Kitts and Nevis. It was the 2nd CPL final for Guyana Amazon Warriors, but they could not win the game. Barbados Tridents had won the game by 8 runs (D/L) and also won their 1st BBL title.
CPL 2015 (Third Edition)
The CPL 2015 was a year for Trinbago Knight Riders. They played impressive cricket throughout the tournament and had won their first CPL title. Trinbago Knight Riders had defeated the defending champions Barbados Tridents of CPL 2015 in the night of final. Trinbago Knight Riders had won the game by 20 runs and became the 3rd team to win CPL title.
CPL 2016 (Fourth Edition)
The champions of season 1 CPL, Jamaica Tallawahs, had bounced back in the CPL 2016 and won their 2nd CPL title. Again the Jamaican team had defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. It was the 3rd final for Guyana Warriors, but they could not make it once again. Jamaica Tallawahs had easily won the game by 9 wickets and became the 1st team to win the title twice.
CPL 2017 (Fifth Edition)
Trinbago Knight Riders won the 2017 CPL title by defeating St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. It was the 1st CPL final for St Kitts, and the team could not handle the pressure of the final game and had collapsed in the final match. Trinbago Knight Riders had won the match by 3 wickets and won their 2nd CPL title.
CPL 2018 (Sixth Edition)
The defending champions of CPL 2018 had also become the champions of CPL 2018. Trinbago Knight Riders had won their 3rd title in CPL 2018. They played the final match at home against Guyana Amazon Warriors and won the title by 8 wickets.
CPL 2019 (Seventh Edition)
Barbados Tridents had won the CPL 2019 title by defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors. Barbados Tridents had won the game by 27 runs. It was the 2nd title for Barbados Tridents, but it was for the 5th time that Guyana Amazon Warriors could not win the final.
CPL 2020 (8th Edition)
