Cricket in Caribbean is incomplete without Jamaica. The Jamaica Tallawahs is the team representing Jamaica in the Caribbean Premiere League T20. This is a team which comprises most of the super stars from the West Indies domestic cricket. The team was formed in the year 2013 and was amongst the 6 teams that took part in the inaugural Caribbean Premiere League. The team was led by Chris Gayle in 2013 and 2014 season. This team is the one of the most competing teams in the tournament which others want to beat.
The team plays its home matches in the most famous cricket ground in Caribbean the Sabina Park. It is the home of cricket for people in Caribbean and everyone coming to watch the match knows exactly how to play. The fans in this part of the Caribbean are known to be a passionate crowd. This ground has a capacity of 20,000 people. It has witnessed few of the best cricket matches that were ever played in the history of cricket. The ground was established way back in 1895 and has been the home of cricket for Caribbean cricket.
The team was able to reach the semi-finals of the 2014 season of Caribbean Premiere League but was unable to qualify against a tough Guyana Amazon Warriors. In the inaugural season though the team was able to win the league beating the Amazon Warriors and were named as the 1st ever team to win the CPLT20. In the coming years this team has got the potential of winning the title more and will be looking forward to it.
