South Africa wins yet another thrilling encounter against Australia - The 2nd match of the Tri series was played between Australia and South Africa. These two teams have produced one of the best high scoring matches. In this match the South Africans after winning the toss decided to field first. The opening pair of Aaron Finch and Phillip Hughes took the team to a score of 92 in 18 overs. It was a good start for the Australians. Later George Bailey came into bat and along with Finch scored some important runs. In the 40th over of the game Finch after scoring 102 runs lost his wicket and left his team to a score of 229 runs. Baiely scored 66 runs and left the team to a score of 242/4 with 9 overs to go. Steven Smith provided the team much required runs at the end scoring 31 runs in 19 balls while Mitchell Johnson scored 23 runs off just 8 balls taking his team to a total of 327 in 50 overs. Imran Tahir was the pick of the bowler as he took 2 wickets giving away only 45 runs.

The South Africans didn’t start of well as Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock lost his wicket early leaving the team to a score of 51/2. Later Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers made batting look simple. They together took the team to a position where the team could not lose the match. Faf du Plessis scored 106 runs and AB de Villiers scored 136 runs pretty easily. they together had a 200 run partnership and du Plessis after scoring 106 runs lost his wicket and went of leaving the team at 257 runs in the 38th over. Jean Paul Duminy scored 33 runs in order to take the team to another thrilling victory against the Australians in just 47th over. Mitchell Starc took 2 wickets in the game. AB de Villiers managed to win the man of the match award for his unbeaten 136 runs.
