Harare Sports Club is one of the most well known cricket grounds of Zimbabwe. The Harare sports Club was earlier recognized as the Salisbury Sports club. It is located in Harare, which is situated in Zimbabwe. The sports club has served as one of the most important cricket venues of Zimbabwe. The field became an important Test match venue in the month of October in 1992. This was the first time when Zimbabwe played its inaugural test series, against India. Thereafter, the ground was honored to play the role of a host for the first One Day International. The ground was next booked for Zimbabwe’s first Twin series.
Being situated in the heart of the city, the ground is surrounded with a gabled pavilion and is lush with the green Jacaranda trees. The Harare Sports ground is bordered with the most outstanding Golf club, that is, the Royal Harare Golf club on one hand, and the presidential palace on the other hand. Zimbabwe’s first Test series was hosted by HSC on this ground in 1992. Since then the ground has been the country’s major venue for the one- day and Tests.
This lushes ground is capable of holding a crowd of 10,000 wild spectators, who cheer the players with their loud and wild shouts.
