From the very first IPL it’s RCB vs. KKR match which had always put some salt into the league’s chemistry. Be it McCollum’s sensational batting or Gayle’s biggis, this match had always presented some eye soothing cricket. Abu Dhabi has also followed the trend.
RCB won the toss and sent KKR to bat first. After losing Manish Pandey and the skipper Gautam Gambhir too soon, KKR was driven into the pit. The twenty four year old Chris Lynn (45, 3*4,3*6, 31b) and Jacques Kallis (43,2*4,1*6,42b) put some effort to make an eighty runs partnership to lead KKR reach 150, while Varoon Aaron’s three wickets stunner helped RCB to fall seven wickets of KKR.
In response to that Parthiv Patel (21, 3*4, 19b) and Yogesh Taka wale (40, 8*4, 28b) gave RCB a fantastic start. After their dismissals came the skipper Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh. They took their time to get settle. In the mean time Sunil Narine stole some tight over to make RCB struggle a little more.
Vinay Kumar came to bowl the last over with nine runs reaming in hand. After the first three balls were replied with singles, then came the magical turning point of the game. De Villiers hit the ball straight towards deep mid-wicket and it was taken to be a sixer, but defiantly one man had not agreed to the term. Chris Lynn took one of the most awesome catches in the history of IPL. He waited, let the ball come to him, understood the difficulty, arched his back and finished on his elbow to make the gallery speech-less. The next two deliveries got three runs and KKR smiled at the end.
Needless to say Chris Lynn was given the Man of the Match award, Kanna Keep Calm award and Yes Bank Maximum Sixes award for his excellent batting and game turning catch.
