In the 15th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2012, they were chasing a target of 134 against South Africa and both batters contributed crucial 49 runs in pairs for the 8th wicket that helped them to achieve a triumph by 2 wickets. Umar Akmal added 43 and Umar Gul scored 32 runs from just 17 balls for which Gul was declared Man of the Match.
- Misbah-ul-Haq and Sohail Tanvir (34 Runs in 2007)
The pair of Misbah-ul-Haq and Sohail Tanvir is at the number 2 position for striking the highest 8th wicket partnership for Pakistan in the history of the T20 World Cup. In the final competition of the T20 World Cup 2007, both the batsmen tried well and contributed 34 runs in pairs for the 8th wicket but could not achieve the target of 158 runs and lost the match by 5 runs.
- Fawad Alam and Mohammad Amir (14 Runs in 2010)
The pair of Fawad Alam and Mohammad Amir is at the number 3 position for hitting the highest 8th wicket partnership of 14 runs in the T20 World Cup for Pakistan. In the 6th match of T20 World Cup 2010 against Australia, Pakistan was chasing a target of 192 runs in which Fawad and Amir contributed together 14 runs for the 8th wicket but could not achieve the target and lost the match by 34 runs.
- Kamran Akmal and Yasir Arafat (13 Runs in 2007)
The pair of Kamran Akmal and Yasir Arafat came in the 4th position for hitting the highest 8th wicket partnership in the T20 World Cup for Pakistan. In the 3rd match of T20 World Cup 2007 against Scotland, Pakistan set a target of 172 runs for their opposition in which Akmal’s 16 and Arafat’s 17 runs built up an 8th wicket partnership of 13 runs for Pakistan. Scotland could not achieve the target and thus Pakistan won the match by 51 runs.
- Abdul Razzaq and Mohammad Amir (12 Runs in 2010)
Another pair of Abdul Razzaq and Mohammad Amir stands at the number 5th position for adding the highest 8th wicket partnership of 12 runs for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. While playing against England in Bridgetown, Pakistan set a target of 148 runs for England which was not enough to beat England and England easily got the target in 19.3 overs only and won the match by 6 wickets.
