India scored 151 runs in the 1 inning and set a target of 152 for Pakistan, which was easily achieved by both the openers in just 17.5 balls. Mohammad Rizwan scored unbeaten 79 and Azam added 68 runs.
- Mohammad Hafeez and Imran Nazir (124 Runs in 2012)
The second 1st wicket partnership in T20 World Cup for Pakistan is 124 runs made by Mohammad Hafeez and Imran Nazir in 2012 against Bangladesh. Bangladesh set the target of 176 runs for Pakistan which was comfortably acquired by Pakistan in 18.4 overs. Imran Nazir was named Man of the Match for his match-winning innings of 72 runs from 36 balls only.
- Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam (113 Runs in 2021)
Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam added the 3rd highest 1st wicket partnership in the T20 World cup for Pakistan. Both the openers made 113 runs in pairs for the 1st wicket against Namibia at Abu Dhabi on Nov 2, 2021. Rizwan’s unbeaten 79 and Azam’s 70 runs helped Pakistan to give a big target of 190 runs for Namibia. Namibia batters could not reach that total and lost the match by 45 runs.
- Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt (82 Runs in 2010)
Kamran Akmal and Salman Butt scored the 4th highest runs in pair for the 1st wicket in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2010 for Pakistan. It was the 2nd semi-final match played between Pakistan and Australia at Gros Islet on May 14 2010 where Akmal added 50 runs and Salman Butt contributed 32 runs for their team. Despite getting a good start, Pakistan could not win the match and lost the way to reach the finals of the T20 World Cup in 2010.
- Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam (71 Runs in 2021)
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan added the 5th highest 1st wicket partnership of 71 runs for Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. They achieved this feat in the semi-final match of Pakistan against Australia at Dubai (DSC) on Nov 11 2021 where Pakistan set a target of 177 runs for Australia which was easily achieved by the Australian batters.
