English side crushes the Indian side 3 times in a row to win the test series - The last match of the Investec test series saw England and India faced each other in Kennington Oval stadium. This ground has been a part of many memorable wins for the home side. Currently the series stood at 2-1 for England and India were looking to equal the series. The current form of the Indian batsmen made it even a bigger task for the visitors. After winning the toss on a wet day English captain decided to field first so as to take the advantage of the wet conditions.

The Day 1 scripted the game well for England. The first session of the day saw the home side coming on top of visitors and making sure that they will not lose the game. The first session saw yet again a downfall of the visitors. At lunch on 1st day the visitors lost 5 wickets at a score of 43 runs. The English bowlers ran through the Indian opening order at a score of 36/5. The English side struck once again after the restart of the game taking the wicket of Stuart Binny leaving the visitors at 44/6. At a point Indian team looked going down at a real speed. They were stalled at 90/9 and it seemed that the team will not be able to reach 100 run marks. The lone batsmen who shone in this dark day were the captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He scored 82 runs as Indian finished the 1st innings at 148 runs. Chris Jordan and Chris Woakes took 3 wickets each in the innings. The English side finished the day at 62 runs without losing a wicket.

The 2nd day of the game saw yet again been dominated by the home side. They made sure that yet again the visitors were batted out of the game in the 1st innings and at lunch on day 2 the visitors stood at 148/1. Alastair Cook was standing at 56 runs and Gary Ballance was standing at 40 runs. The 2nd session of the day saw bring some success for the team as they took 4 wickets. England at tea scored 246 runs losing 5 wickets. Cook after scoring 72 runs lost his wicket while Ballance scored 64 runs. The third session saw England take a good grip of the match. Joe Root was the man for the home side as he scored 92 runs in the whole day and England finished the day at 385/7.

Day 3 saw England tighten more screws on the match as they ended their 1st innings just before lunch at 486 runs. Joe Root was unbeaten at 149 runs. Ishant Sharma took 4 wickets for team India. The visitors faced a tough task of saving the match as England led by a 328 runs. It was a great task for the team whose batsmen were out of form. Just before the lunch team lost both the openers as rain came down interrupting the procedure. The wet ground delayed the proceedings as match restored a bit late. But it was only a matter of time for England as Indian batsmen surrendered easily in front of the English bowlers. The Indians ended their 2nd innings at a score of 94 runs thus losing the match by 244 runs and an innings. Chris Jordan took 4 wickets in the innings. Joe root was named as the man of the match for his excellent batting.
