James Anderson, a English player is a pace bowler who represents England. He is sometimes also baptized as Jimmy Anderson. A right arm fast bowler born in 1982 and is a all time highest international wicket taker when combined across all three formats. He stands at the 4th rank when it comes to taking more than 300 wickets. He stands at the 3rd position in ICC bowler ranking at present. He is a regular strike bowler in England's one day team. He plays first-class cricket for Lancashire county cricket club. Jimmy made his first class debut for Lancashire in 2002, played 13 games and took 50 wickets at an average of 23 which also includes three 5 wicket haul. Anderson became the youngest player for taking 3 wickets consecutively (hat-trick) for Lancashire in 2003 and one year later he recorded his maiden 10 wicket haul. Jimmy made his Test debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe and recorded a 5 wicket haul in his debut match. He was the 17th English player to do so. He has played around 80 Test matches and has taken nearly 307 crucial wickets with a bowling average of 30. He has recorded a record of 5 wicket haul 13 times so far and that of 10 wicket haul only once. When it comes to his ODI debut, he represented his team for the first time in 2002 at the age of just 20against Australia. He has played over 160 ODI games and has taken 240 wickets with an average of 30. He has a record of 5 wicket haul only twice so far in ODIs. England's one day series in India was cut short due to terror attacks in Mumbai. 7 matches were due to be played, but due to the attacks England flew home early, after five games. They were 5–0 down in the series and Anderson had not taken one wicket, despite bowling in every one of the five games. Anderson has an unusual bowling action, at the moment of delivery he has his head down, eyes closed and does not look where he is bowling; he attempted to bowl with his head up but found that he lost pace in doing so, so reverted to his original action. In 2003, ex-England pace bowler Bob Willis claimed that Anderson would only be able to play for five years with his action. Between 2004 and 2005, the England coaching staff attempted to alter Anderson's bowling action.
