P Sara Oval is also known as P.Saravanamuttu Stadium. It is located in Borella, Colombo, capital of Sri Lanka. It was established in the year 1945. It is the home of the Athletic Club and Tamil Union Cricket. It has hosted the first test of Sri Lanka against England in the year 1982. In 1985, Sri Lanka win the first ever test over India. It is relatively a small ground which is half bounded by the lower-level stands & half of the grassy banks. The most renowned feature of P Sara Oval is its scorecard which is ivy-covered in the year 1948 Sir Don Bradman came here with his Australian squad en route to England. The total seating capacity of the ground is 15,000. The two main Ends of the ground are Press Box End and Air Force Flat End. The ground often hosted international cricket matches till 1994. It has hosted fifteen test matches along with twelve one day international matches and one T20 match. Stephen Fleming, the former New Zealand captain made the record of the highest scores in a test on this ground. Shane Warne has most numbers of dismissals with impressive figures (7/94) in a match against Pakistan.
