Windsor Park is located in Roseau, Dominica. It is a multi-purpose sports ground. It is the national ground of Dominica and is used generally for hosting cricket matches. Some other utilities of the ground are in the form of hosting World Festival of Creole Music, the Calypso Competition finale and Ms Dominica beauty pageant. This sports ground is of ICC (International Cricket Council) international standard having facilities like seating capability of 12,000 people, one media centre, private boxes, practice nets, a complex for players, 5 cricket pitches and a big digital scoreboard. It was named after Windsor, a place in England which is placed on Roseau’s eastern side. On 6th of February, 2008, the national football team of Dominica played their initial World Cup 2010 qualifying match with Barbados. 4200 spectators were present to see this match. Windsor Park hosted 2 ODI cricket matches between Bangladesh and West Indies on 26th of July and 28th of July, 2009 respectively. It has hosted the first cricket Test match between India and West Indies from 6 to10 July, 2011. After being closed for renovation, it was opened on 24th of October, 2007 with a grand opening ceremony. The sea breezes enhance the experience of watching cricket here.
