The seventh match of IPL 7 produced a high scoring match between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium, Sharjah. KXIP won the toss and elected to bowl first, and eventually they proved that they’re the master of chasing by winning the match by 7 wickets in hand and 8 balls to spare.

The audience of Sharjah experienced a “WATTO ATTACK” as Shane Watson (C) played a brilliant captain’s knock as he scored 50 runs in just 29 balls. The wonder boy Sanju Samson (W) showed his talent again as he scored 52 runs in just 34 balls. Steven Smith (27 of 15 balls) finished the innings for RR greatly. Well, Stuart Binny (12 of 8 balls) and Ajinkya Rahane (13 of 8 balls) was failed to perform in their second match. But the brilliant performance of Watson and Samson helped RR to set 191 runs on the board. However, among the bowlers of KXIP only Akshar Patel (1-22) and Mitchell Johnson (1-29) played quite well in the match.

The run chase for KXIP began quite badly as Virender Sehwag (2 of 7 balls) yet again failed to deliver his class of performance. Wriddhiman Saha (W) also went early as he scored just 2 runs of 3 balls. But its Glenn Maxwell and David Miller all over again as they both gave a match winning performance for KXIP. Maxwell missed his century yet again by just 11 runs as he scored 89 runs of just 45 balls.

However, the Miller “The Killer” really assaulted RR’s bowlers to turn the match into KXIP’s favor. He scored 51 runs just in 19 balls. Cheteshwar Pujara played a steady innings of 40 runs in 38 balls. However, Kane Richardson, Dhawal Kulkarni and James Faulkner shared 1 wicket each for the RR team, but almost all the bowlers went for too many runs in the hands of Maxwell and Miller. Dhawal Kulkarni conceded 27 Runs in his last over as KXIP won the match 1.2 overs left.

Both “Yes Bank Maximum Sixes Award” and “Kanna Keep Calm Award” were given to David Miller and guess what; Glen Maxwell got the Man of the Match Award yet again for the second consecutive time for his amazing batting display.
