Pakistan Dominate Australia in the 2nd test match - After winning the 1st test the Pakistan team looked real strong and Australians needed a lot better performance to comeback and level the series. The 2nd test of the series was played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. In this match the home team won the toss and decided to bat first yet again.

This time around the openers did provide a steady start scoring 57 runs for the 1st wicket. Ahmed Shehzad was the first one to lose his wicket after scoring 35 runs. Mohammad Hafeez did partner Azhar Ali but after scoring 45 runs he lost his wicket bringing in the star player Younis Khan in the match. Khan and Ali together ruled the Australian bowling at the end of the 1st day the visitors were able to take only two wickets as Pakistan ended their day at 304/2. Ali and Khan both completed their centuries and were playing at 101 and 111 respectively.

On the 2nd day
of the match the home team had all the chance of batting the Australians out of the  match and they did exactly what was expected from them as Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq together took the initiative of taking their team to a comfortable position. Khan scored 213 runs while Misbah scored 101 runs. Before this stand early in the day Ali lost his wicket after scoring 109 runs. Pakistan declared their innings at a score of 570 and brought Australia to bat for some overs in the end and they ended their day at 22/1 losing the wicket of Chris Rogers.

From the start of the 3rd day the visitors found it difficult to fight it out and play an outstanding cricket to come back in the game. The wickets kept on falling on a regular interval. Michael Clarke and Mitchell Marsh did play a good innings but they failed to convert it into a big one. Clarke scored 47 runs and Marsh scored 87 runs in the innings just after tea the Australians were bowled out at a score of 261. Imran Khan was the star bowler taking 3 wickets in the innings. Pakistan had the lead but they lost 2 wickets before the end of the 3rd day. They ended up the day at 61/2 with Azhar Ali and Younis Khan on crease.

The 4th day saw the home side tightening grip on the match. Younis Khan lost his wicket at a score of 46 and brought in Misbah. He along with Ali took the team to a score of 293 thus setting up the Australians a mammoth score of 603. Ali scored 100 runs in the 2nd innings while Misbah too completed his century scoring 101 runs. Just before tea the Australians were put onto bat and while reaching tea on day 4 they had already lost 2 crucial wickets. David Warner and Michael Clarke were at crease fighting out for survival. Post tea the problems increased as Warner and Clarke lost their wicket too. Warner scored 58 runs and once again Australian batsmen failed to convert a start into a big one. The day ended up at 143/4 for the Australians.

The 5th day was the day for victory for the home side. The match was already decided and it was the matter of time when the victory would come. Australians did have a good start to the days play as till lunch they were able to lose only 1 wicket. Mitchell Marsh after scoring 47 runs lost his wicket just before the lunch at day 5. The good start was then wasted as the batsmen failed to apply themselves. Wickets tumbled and between all the dramas Steven Smith scored 97 runs. The Australians were bowled out at a score of 246 thus Pakistan won the match by 356 runs. Zulfiqar Babar took 5 wickets in the innings.

Misbah-Ul-Haq was named as the player of the match and with this win the Pakistan team won the Haier cup 2-0.
