1. AB de Villiers

When West Indies visited South Africa in 2015, AB de Villiers delivered this excellent effort in the 2nd ODI at Johannesburg. In that match, South Africa's openers made a 247 in a pair for the 1st wicket and then AB de Villiers at number 3 completed the rest of the work by contributing 149 from 44 balls only. This outstanding effort of de Villiers contained the fastest 50 in 16 balls only and helped South Africa to reach the 400 runs milestone in that match.

2. Mark Boucher

Mark Boucher holds the record of achieving the 2nd fastest 50 in ODI for South Africa. He achieved this remarkable feat in just 19 balls while performing against Kenya in the 8th match of the Standard Bank Triangular Tournament in 2001. South Africa batted first and added a huge total of 354 runs on the scoreboard in which Mark Boucher added 51 runs in 20 balls only and also got the credit of making the 2nd fastest 50 in ODI for South Africa.

3. Justin Kemp

Justin Kemp is listed in the 3rd position for making the record of the fastest 50 in One Day International for South Africa. He made this superb effort in 19 balls only while playing against Zimbabwe in the 2nd match of the 3 ODI bilateral series. South Africa started well and added 329 on the scoreboard. Justin Kemp who came at the number 7 position struck some big shots and added the 3rd fastest 50 for South Africa and ultimately contributed 53 in 21 balls while remaining not out. 

4. Mark Boucher

Mark Boucher holds 4th place in the list of the fastest 50 in ODI for South Africa. In the 7th match of the ICC World Cup 2007, South Africa faced the Netherlands at Basseterre. While batting first, South Africa got an excellent start even losing the first wicket at 0 runs. After that, Mark Boucher came at number 5 and contributed unbeaten 75 runs very quickly in 31 balls only. He also added the record of the 4th fastest 50 off 21 balls in an ODI for South Africa in that match. 

5. Farhaan Behardien

Farhaan Behardien is sitting in the number 5th position for making the fastest 50 in ODI for South Africa. He made this effort in just 21 balls while performing against Irland in the One Day International when Ireland visited South Africa in 2016. South Africa got the chance to bat first and they added 354 runs on the scoreboard due to the excellent performance of their openers. In the 6th position, Farhaan Behardien came out to bat and struck some big hits in making the 5th fastest 50 in ODI for South Africa. In reply, Ireland could not chase the target and lost the match by 206 runs.
