When West Indies visited South Africa in 2015, AB de Villiers delivered this excellent effort in the 2nd ODI at Johannesburg. In that match, South Africa's openers made a 247 in a pair for the 1st wicket and then AB de Villiers at number 3 completed the rest of the work by contributing 149 from 44 balls only. This outstanding effort of de Villiers contained the fastest 50 in 16 balls only and helped South Africa to reach the 400 runs milestone in that match.
2. Mark Boucher
Mark Boucher holds the record of achieving the 2nd fastest 50 in ODI for South Africa. He achieved this remarkable feat in just 19 balls while performing against Kenya in the 8th match of the Standard Bank Triangular Tournament in 2001. South Africa batted first and added a huge total of 354 runs on the scoreboard in which Mark Boucher added 51 runs in 20 balls only and also got the credit of making the 2nd fastest 50 in ODI for South Africa.
