Angelo Mathews and Kumar Sangakkara (68* Runs in 2009)
The pair of Angelo Mathews and Kumar Sangakkara is listed at the top position for making the highest 7th wicket partnership in the history of the T20 World Cup for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka reached the final in the T20 World Cup 2009 where they faced Pakistan. Sri Lanka batted first but could not perform well and made only 138 runs in which Mathews and Sangakkara added unbeaten 68 runs in a pair for the 7th wicket. In reply, Pakistan did not face any difficulties and achieved the total in 18.4 overs.
Jehan Mubarak and Gayan Wijekoon (45* Runs in 2007)
The pair of Jehan Mubarak and Gayan Wijekoon stands at the 2nd position for making a record 7th wicket partnership of unbeaten 45 runs in the T20 World Cup for Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka faced Kenya in the 8th match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup where they set a target of 261 runs for Kenya but Kenya could not achieve it as the entire squad was bowled out at 88 runs. Sanath Jayasuriya was named Man of the Match for his match-winning innings of 88 runs.
Nuwan Kulasekara and Thisara Perera (25 Runs in 2016)
The combination of Nuwan Kulasekara and Thisara Perera is listed in 3rd place for contributing a record 7th wicket partnership in the T20 World Cup for Sri Lanka. While playing against West Indies in the 21st match of the T20 World Cup 2016, Sri Lanka added 122 runs on the scoreboard in which Kulasekara and Perera added 25 runs in a pair for the 7th wicket. The target was not big for the West Indies and they achieved it very easily in 18.2 overs.
Chamika Karunaratne and Pathum Nissanka (21 Runs in 2021)
The duo of Chamika Karunaratne and Pathum Nissanka is placed at the number 4th position for creating a record 7th wicket partnership for Sri Lanka in T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka and South Africa faced each other in the 25th match of the T20 World Cup of 2021 where the entire Sri Lanka squad was bowled out at 142 runs in which Karunaratne and Nissanka added 21 runs in a pair for the 7th wicket. In reply, South African batters achieved the target very comfortably in 19.5 overs.
Chamika Karunaratne and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (20* Runs in 2021)
The combination of Chamika Karunaratne and Bhanuka Rajapaksa is at the 5th position for making a record 7th wicket partnership in the T20 World Cup for Sri Lanka. In the 22nd match of the T20 World Cup 2021, Sri batted first and added 154 runs on the scoreboard in which Karunaratne and Rajapaksa contributed unbeaten 20 runs in a pair for the 7th wicket. Australia, on the other hand, did find some difficulties to achieve the target and defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets.
