The biggest competition of cricket, Cricket World Cup 2023 is about to begin in the upcoming month of October and all the qualified squads have already started planning and selecting their players. It is essential for all the teams to announce their final 15 players before 28 September as per ICC guidelines. After this date, every team needs to get permission and approval from the ICC officials to make any substitution in the team.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has selected the 15 players and announced their names on September 5, 2023. Under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, Team India will take part in the ICC World Cup 2023 and Hardik Pandya will play the role of Vice Captain.

KL Rahul who was facing the issue regarding his fitness is all set to join the Indian team for the upcoming World Cup 2023. With the joining of KL Rahul, Sanju Samson lost his place in the team along with Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna. Shubman Gill with Rohit Sharma will open the game for India.
Virat Kohli will take the charge of top order whereas Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and KL Rahul will take care of the middle order. Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel are included as all-round performers.
In the bowling department, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj will handle the pace bowling attack whereas Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja will take care of the spin department.
Jasprit Bumrah just made a comeback to the Indian team after a long absence because of his fitness. KL Rahul also made a return to the team after facing the same fitness issue. KL Rahul was injured while performing in one of the matches in the IPL. Most probably, India’s main spin attackers are Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel whereas Kuldeep Yadav is included as a substitute.
India will kick off their World Cup Journey on 8th October in Chennai where they will face Australia. The last match of the Indian team in the league stage will be held against the Netherlands on 12 November in Bengaluru.
