Cricket South Africa has finalized their roster for the upcoming World Cup 2023 and have revealed the name of 15 selected players. Most of the players including captain Bavuma in the South African team for World Cup 2023 will play their first World Cup. So, it is a good combination of seasoned cricketers and players who will compete in their maiden World Championship.
Under the captaincy of Temba Bavuma, South Africa will enter the Cricket World Cup 2023 and they will kick off their World Cup journey with a match against Sri Lanka on 7th October in Delhi. Rob Walter will play the role of the head coach in the World Cup 2023 journey of South Africa.

The South African captain has the experience of only 26 ODIs but is skilled enough to change the conditions of the match at any time. The batting line of South Africa is also so strong since it includes batters like Quinton de Kock, and Rassie van der Dussen along with power hitters like David Miller, Aiden Markram, and Heinrich Klaasen. David Miller, Aiden Markram, and Heinrich Klaasen are the middle-order batters. Quinton de Kock, the wicketkeeper-batsman of the South African team has decided to say goodbye to ODI cricket after the World Cup 2023.
Considering South Africa's bowling department, they have some world-class pacers named Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi, and Kagiso Rabada. Rabada and Nortje have the capability to deliver the ball with more than 150+ whereas Lungi Ngidi is very consistent with his line and length. Pacer Gerald Coetzee is also included in the squad who just started his international career in cricket this year. He is a new face in the team with a little experience of just 2 ODIs with 5 wickets.
Considering the Indian pitches that support spinners most, South Africa also included spinners named Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi who are talented enough to take charge whenever the team requires them.
South Africa will also play the warm-up matches against Afghanistan on 29 September and then they will face New Zealand on 2nd October. No doubt that South Africa has remained a favorite in almost every ICC competition but it is unfortunate that they have not been able to pick up any ICC title. It is required to mention that South Africa has played 7 ODIs this year in 2023 out of which they won 5 ODIs and lost 2 matches. It would be interesting to watch how South Africa will take charge in this World Championship to lift the title.
