He made this record in 64 balls only while playing against Australia at Christchurch in 2015/16. Australia went to New Zealand for a test series where the New Zealand captain struck 145 runs in just 79 balls but New Zealand ultimately lost the match by 7 wickets. 

2. Colin de Grandhomme

Colin de Grandhomme comes in 2nd place for achieving the record of the fastest hundred in test matches for New Zealand. He added the fastest hundred in just 71 balls while performing against West Indies at Wellington in 2017/18. West Indies came to New Zealand in order to play a bilateral test series, both teams faced each other for the 1st test where Colin de Grandhomme played well and added 105 runs from just 74 balls. This helped them to achieve a winning total of 520 runs. 

3. Brendon McCullum

Brendon McCullum holds the 3rd position for hitting the quickest century in the test matches for New Zealand. He did this feat in just 74 balls in a test match against Sri Lanka at Hagley Oval, Christchurch in 2014/15.

Ross Taylor registered himself in number 5th position for adding the fastest century in the test for New Zealand. He achieved this record in just 81 balls while showing his talent against Australia at Seddon Park, Hamilton in 2009/10. During Australia’s visit to New Zealand for the test series, both nations met for the 2nd test at Hamilton where Ross Taylor played an outstanding innings of 138 runs from 104 balls but New Zealand could not save the match.
