He made this feat in 81 balls while facing Bangladesh bowlers at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in 2001-02. In the Asian Test Championship, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka met for the 2nd match where Jayawardene added 150 runs in the 2nd innings.
2. Sanath Jayasuriya
Sanath Jayasuraya stands at the 2nd place for making the fastest century in Test cricket for Sri Lanka. He added this record in just 90 balls while playing against Zimbabwe at Harare in 2004. During Sri Lanka's visit to Zimbabwe, both the nations met for the 1st test where Sri Lanka added 541 runs in the 1st innings. Sanath Jayasuraya added 157 runs including the fastest century of his career that helped them to reach a winning total in the first innings.
3. Tillakaratne Dilshan
