Jamaica Tallawahs is one of the most loved teams of CPL. It has always been one of the strongest teams in the tournament. This Jamaica-based team is based on the city of Jamaica and was founded back in 2013. Jamaica Tallawahs has performed very well in CPL history and won the championship twice. The team Jamaica Tallawahs holds a record of winning percentage (100) in finale matches. The team had reached twice in the final of the championship and won both the final games. The current captain of the team is batsman Rovman Powell. Under his captaincy team performs consistently. The team holds a very good winning record at home. This team also had a record in CPL history to have all 11 local players in the squad in a match in 2013 at home against the TT Red Steel.

Jamaica won 2 CPL titles in total. The team had its first title in 2013 and the second title back in 2016. Both the times they defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors in Final.

CPL 2013

Jamaica Tallawahs had kicked off their first season like a boss and showed unexceptionally well cricket to everyone. With tremendous performance, it had won the tournament. The team had lost only 2 matches in the entire season. Chris Gayle had scored the most runs for Jamaica Tallawahs in CPL 2013. The team had finished at 2^nd position in league matches in which they had won 5 games out of 7. Jamaica Tallawahs had defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final game and won their first championship at the very first season of the CPL.

CPL 2014

The team had played good cricket again in CPL 2014, but it played the role of the defending champion of 2014 CPL and not the winning champion of 2014 CPL. The team had lost the semi-final match against Guyana Amazon Warriors. The team had finished the CPL 2014 on 3^rd place. On league stage, it had won 6 games out of 9. Jamaica had also won 1^st knockout match but had lost the 2^nd game, and thus it finished at 3^rd position. Jamaica showed promising performance, and Chris Gayle scored most runs for Jamaica Tallawahs 363 runs with a batting average of 40.33. 

CPL 2015

Jamaica Tallawahs had begun their 3^rd season in CPL 2015 with a defeat by Barbados Tridents. But the team had bounced back on the very second game of the league and had won the match by 10 wickets. Chris Gayle had scored 90 runs in just 36 balls. In the same season, Jamaica had faced their biggest defeat against St Kitts by 119 runs. Jamaica had got all out on 80 in just 16 over. But the team had still managed to finish the group stage at 4^th place and reached the knockout stage. On semi-final 1 Jamaica Tallawahs was defeated by Trinbago Knight Riders, and it had finished the tournament on 4^th place. Chris Gayle was the top run-scorer in CPL 2015. He had scored most 430 runs.

CPL 2016

The 2016 CPL season was extremely special for Jamaica Tallawahs as this season had got the team their second-ever CPL win. Jamaica had lost only 4 matches in CPL 2016. Jamaica had won both the semi-final matches to reach the final of the championship. The final was between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs. Jamaica had won the final match by 9 wickets and also won their second CPL title. Chris Gayle scored most runs for Jamaica Tallawahs while Andre Russell was selected as the player of the tournament for his brilliant all-round performance.

CPL 2017

Jamaica Tallawahs had started the CPL 2017 season as a defending champion and played very good cricket throughout the tournament. It had finished the group stage at 3^rd position. Jamaica Tallawahs had won 6 games out of 10 league games. Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated Jamaica in eliminator match, and thus the defending champions had finished the season at 4^th place in CPL 2017. Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara was the top scorer for Jamaica Tallawahs and the 2^nd topmost runs scorer in CPL 2017. He scored 379 runs in 11 matches with a batting average of 42.11. It was the first time in CPL history that Chris Gayle was not the top scorer for Jamaica Tallawahs.

CPL 2018

The Jamaica Tallawahs team had commenced the CPL 2018 season with a great start and had won their first 3 matches with great ease. The CPL 2018 season for Jamaica Tallawahs was lead by Andre Russell. He had also scored a century and took a hat trick in this season. Jamaica Tallawahs had won their 6 games out of 10 league matches. The team had played very good cricket in the 2018 tournament, but unfortunately, it had lost the nail-biting eliminator match against St. Kitts. It was a high scoring game where Jamaica had scored 191 runs in their 20 overs while St. Kitts chased the target in second last ball of the inning. It was a tough day for Jamaica Tallawahs fans. The team had finished the season again on 4^th position. Glenn Phillips had scored the most runs for Jamaica Tallawahs, which was 457 runs in 11 games with a batting average of 41.54 while Oshane Thomas had taken most 18 wickets for Jamaica Tallawahs.

CPL 2019

The CPL 2019 season was the worst season for Jamaica Tallawahs in CPL history. The Jamaican team could not even qualify for playoffs. The team had finished at last position in the league stage. Jamaica Tallawahs had won only 2 games out of 10 games and had disappointed everyone by their performance. Glenn Phillips had scored 374 runs in 10 matches as the top run-scorer for Jamaica. The team could not start the tournament as per the way they wanted and had to finish the season at the bottom position.
