Kemar Roach is a Barbadian cricket who has represented West Indies in international ODI and Test formats born in 1988. A 5-foot-8-inch (1.73 m) fast bowler, Roach is capable of express speeds and has reached 150 kilometers per hour (93 mph) on a number of occasions. In 2012 he became the first West Indies bowler to take 10 wickets in a Test since 2005. Roach represented the West Indies at U19 level, participating in the 2006 U-19 World Cup. In a warm up match for the Cup, Roach took 4/44 against Pakistan including a hat trick. He finished his Youth One Day International career with nine wickets from seven matches at an average of 27.44 and a highest batting score of 30 not out. Roach made his Test debut against Bangladesh in 2009. In the same series, 7 West Indies players made their debut. His first Test wicket was that of all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. His best figure is 6 for 48 which he set in the same series. Roach finished as West Indies' leading wicket-taker from the series with a total of 13 wickets. He made his maiden 5 wicket haul against Bangladesh in ODI format followed by the Test series and took 10 wickets in the series with an average of 16. He has played 23 Test games so far and has taken nearly 85 wickets with a bowling average of 28. He has a record of 10 wicket haul once which he achieved against Australia in 2012 and 5 wickets haul 5 times in Test format. Apart from his bowling, he has scored 300 runs with the bat at an average of 10 and his best score is 41. Roach made his first appearance for West Indies in ODI in 2008 against Bermuda and finished with figures of 10-1-29-2. His first wicket was that of Stephen Outerbridge. He has played 53 games and has taken nearly 80 wickets with an average of 27. His best figure in ODI format is of 6 for 27 which he set in World Cup 2011. He has taken 5 wickets thrice. When it comes to his performance with the bat, he has scored just 153 runs with an average of 12. Roach was the member of West Indies squad for 2010 ICC World Twenty20. Roach played in three of the team's matches, and was West Indies’s second highest wicket-taker (5 wickets at an average of 15.40). He was included in the squad for the 50-over World Cup in 2011. He claimed a hat-trick in World Cup and became 6th bowler to do this. He was the West Indies' leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 13 wickets from 6 matches. He has been declared Man of the Match only once in Test format so far and 3 times in ODI format as yet.
