Mannofield Park is one of the
beautiful stadiums built in the nineteenth century. It was established in the
year 1890. The total seating capacity of
this ground is 6,000. There is no floodlights facility for the day / night
event. It is also famous as ‘Home of Aberdeen-shire cricket club’. The
Mannofield Park is located at Morningside Road, AB10 7FB Aberdeen in Scotland. The
first recorded cricket match played on this ground was in year 1879. It was played
between Edinburgh University and Aberdeen University. The first class match being
held here came in the year 1930 when Ireland played against Scotland. Mannofield
has since then hosted 9 first-class cricket matches. The last match was played
between Ireland and Scotland in the year 2009–10 when these two nations were
chasing for ICC ‘Intercontinental Cup’. The ground has also hosted six One-Day
International cricket matches. The first match was played between New Zealand
and Ireland on 1st of July, 2008. It was a tri-series of Ireland,
Scotland and New Zealand. The last ODI played here was in August 2009 between Ireland
and Scotland. Mannofield Park has also hosted two exciting T20 matches. Both of
the matches played between Kenya and Scotland on 4th and 5th
July, 2003 respectively.
