The 6th match of the CPL 2020 was played between Trinbago Knight Riders and Jamaica Tallawahs on August 20, Thursday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad at 5:30 PM (LT). Trinbago Knight Riders captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and elected to field first.
C Walton opened the inning for Jamaica Tallwahs with Glenn Phillips but Walton got out on duck to Ali Khan. N Kirton also got out on duck and Jamaica loss its 2 wickets on just 10 runs. Captain Powell also got out on 8 runs and it was 19/3 for Jamaica Tallwahs at the end of 3 over. Glenn Phillips made partnership of 39 runs with Asif Ali for the fourth wicket. Glenn Phillips scored brilliant half century and made 58 runs in pressure situation. Asif Ali scored 22 and Andre Russell scored 25 runs that helped Jamaica Tallawahs to have a total of 135 runs in their 20 over. Ali Khan and J Seales took 2 wickets each.
It was a target of 136 runs for Trinbago Knight Riders to win its 2nd game of CPL 2020. Sunil Narine opened the inning for Trinbago Knight Riders and made another brilliant half century for Trinbago Knight Riders. He made 53 runs on just 38 balls. Lendl Simmons got out on duck but Kiwi batsman Colin Munro played a brilliant inning of not out 49 runs which helped team to have an easy 7 wickets win against Jamaica Tallwahs.
Trinbago Knight Riders chased the target in 18.1 over. Sunil Narine was selected as player of the match for his brilliant fifty and for having 1 wicket with ball by giving only 19 runs in his 4 over. The Trinbago Knight Riders also reached at the top position on point table by winning their first two games. Captain Pollard looked satisfied and happy with the performance of team.
