The 44th match of IPL 2020 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings on 25th October. It was played at Dubai International Stadium, where RCB won the toss and chose to bat first. RCB was captained by Virat Kohli, and team CSK was led by MS Dhoni.

Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch, the opening pair from Royal Challengers Bangalore, gave a good start to the team. In the 4th over, RCB lost its first wicket in the form of Finch, who made 15 runs. In the 7th over, Padikkal also got out, and hence the score of RCB was 46/2. However, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers managed the inning well and added precious runs to score quickly. Kohli made 50 runs while AB made 39 runs. In the 18th over, the match took a turn when AB got out. In the 19th over, Moeen Ali also got out, and in the same over, Kohli also returned to the pavilion. Hence the score of RCB was much restricted. At the end of 20 overs, RCB could reach 145 at a loss of 6 wickets. CSK needed 146 runs in 20 overs to win the game. From CSK, Sam Curran was the most successful bowler who got 3 wickets. Deepak Chahar also got 2 wickets while Mitchell Santner also got 1 wicket from CSK. The overall bowling from CSK was quite impressive.

From Chennai Super Kings, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis started the inning and gave a firm start to the team. In the 6th over, du Plessis got out, and Ambati Rayudu joined Gaikwad to move the scoreboard further. In 14th over, Rayudu also got out at an individual score of 39 runs.  Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Gaikwad carried the inning till victory. CSK made 150 runs in 18.4 overs only and hence won the match. The bowling attack from RCB was not that effective, and hence Gaikwad, du Plessis, and Rayudu played good innings, which led the team to an easy victory. The batting side of RCB was also not like a match-winning team as a result; they had to lose the match. Ruturaj Gaikwad was declared as the player of the match for his fantastic inning of not out 65 runs in 51 balls only.
