It was the 6th match of the IPL 2020 season when the teams Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore clashed at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai, on 25 September 2020. From RCB, everyone was eyeing the performance of Kohli, who is named as the king of the game nowadays. RCB won the toss and chose to field.
From KXIP, Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal opened the inning and, with a little struggle, set on the crease. With initial singles and doubles, they started rotating the score and gradually got a good average. In the 7th over, at the score of 57, Mayank Agarwal got out at an individual score of 26 runs. After Agarwal, even Nicholas Pooran and Glenn Maxwell also got out early, but on the other end, captain KL Rahul kept hitting hard. It was due to the fantastic inning played by Lokesh Rahul that KXIP made a score of 206 runs at a loss of 3 wickets in their 20 overs. Rahul made not out century. He made 132 runs in 69 balls only. From RCB, Shivam Dube was the most successful bowler with 2 wickets. It was a target of 207 runs for RCB, and looking at the powerful batting line up; it was not a much difficult task.
From KXIP, Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch started the inning, but this opening pair failed to give a good start to the team as Padikkal got out at a score of 2 runs in the first over only. Surprisingly in the second and third over, RCB lost two crucial wickets in the form of Josh Philippe and Virat Kohli, which opened the gate for the victory of KXIP. AB de Villiers and Washington Sundar tried to balance the score by playing slowly and steadily, but the bowling attack of KXIP did not allow any batsman to set and play. The team with the most powerful batting line up got all out in 109 runs. The most notable thing is RCB batsmen could not play their 20 overs also as the whole team got out in 17 overs only.
In this season, it was the biggest victory for any team. KXIP won the match by 97 runs as RCB could not reach the score of KL Rahul also. Due to impressive batting, Rahul was awarded as the player of the match.
