M Mortaza was the captain of Bangladesh team, and C Chibhabha was the captain of Zimbabwe team. Bangladesh captain won the toss and decided to bat first.
Bangladesh openers gave a good start to the team and made 60 runs for the 1st wicket. T. Iqbal got out early on 24, but Litton Das played brilliantly and scored a brilliant century and made the most 126 runs for Bangladesh. M. Mithun also scored a half-century and made 50 runs. C. Mpofu took 2 wickets for Zimbabwe and Bangladesh scored 321 runs in their 50 over. It was a satisfying total for Bangladesh.
Chasing 322 against Bangladesh was difficult for Zimbabwe team. Zimbabwe openers failed to show good cricket under pressure and got out early. Both the openers got out on below 10 score. Bangladesh won the first match of the series by 169 runs and took an early lead of 1-0 in the 3 match series. Bangladesh opener Litton Das was selected as the player of the match for his brilliant match-winning century. Bangladesh captain looked happy with the team performance while it was disappointing for Zimbabwe team.
