Hurricanes confirm semi-final spot after a win against Tridents - The 16th Oppo Champions League T20 2014 was played between Barbados Tridents and Hobart Hurricanes. This match was one of the important matches of Group B as Tridents needed to win it to stay alive in the tournament while a win for the Hurricanes would have meant a semi-final spot in the tournament. Hurricanes after winning the toss decided to field first in Mohali.

While batting first the opening pair of the team remained a problem. They lost 3 wickets in the opening 6 overs of the match. This was a bad start considering for this important fixture. The team was suffering at 26/3 in 5 overs of the game. In the 10th over the problems increased for the team as they lost a well set batsman in the form of James Franklin at a score of 48. He scored only 12 runs in 13 balls. Jason Holder too was unable to stay on the crease for a long time. Rest of the team was unable to stay long.
