Hobart Hurricanes is a Hobart city-based franchise cricket team in Australian domestic Twenty20 cricket Big Bash League (BBL). Hobart Hurricanes did not win any BBL title till now. Hobart Hurricanes team was founded back in BBL 2011-12 and showed quality performance in the tournament. Hobart Hurricanes plays their home matches at Blundstone Arena, Hobart. The team played its first Twnety20 match against Perth Scorchers at The WACA Stadium and recorded a fine victory in their very first match. The team was able in the semi final of the tournament where they were outdone. Matthew Wade is the present captain of Hobart Hurricanes team and their coach is Adam Griffith.. Matthew Wade also has most win percent as a captain for Hobart Hurricanes. He captained the Hurricanes team in 22 matches and team won 13 matches. It is considered as a team with some of the best players in the tournament.

2011-12
Tim Paine was assigned as captain of Hobart Hurricanes in the inaugural season of BBL. Hobart Hurricanes showed quality performance in the league stage and finished at 2nd position. They qualified for knockouts. They failed to win the semi-final match and finished the season as a semi-finalist.
2012-13
The franchise changed the captain of the team, and George Bailey was assigned as captain of Hobart Hurricanes. The Hurricanes failed to qualify for knockouts and finished the season at 6th position. They played 8 matches in the group stage and won only 4 matches.
2013-14
Hobart Hurricanes showed quality performance in BBL 2013-14. They finished the league stage on 4th position and managed to qualify for playoffs. They won the semi-final match against Melbourne Stars and reached to their first-ever BBL final. Hobart Hurricanes collapsed against Perth Scorchers in final. Hurricanes failed to win the match and finished the season as runners-up.
2014-15
Hobart Hurricanes failed to dominate over oppositions in BBL 2014-15. Hobart Hurricanes did not qualify for knockouts and won only 3 league matches out of 8 and finished the season at 5th position on the points table.
2015-16
The Hurricanes disappointed their fans by the performance in BBL 2015-16. This was the worst season for Hobart Hurricanes. They finished the league stage at 7th position and failed to qualify for knockouts.
2016-17
Tim Paine and George Bailey guided the team, but they failed to show a quality result. Despite having big names in the team, they were unable to qualify for playoffs. They finished the season on 7th position.
2017-18
George Bailey led the team for the final time in BBL 2017-18. They bounced back and finished the league stage on 4th position and qualified for playoffs. They won the qualifier match and reached to their 2nd BBL final. They failed to win the final match and finished as runners-up.
2018-19
Wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Wade was assigned as captain of Hobart Hurricanes. They dominated the league stage and finished the league stage on top position. They qualified for playoffs, but they failed to win the semi-final match and finished the season as a semi-finalist.
2019-20
Matthew Wade and Ben McDermott guided the Hobart team in BBL 2019-20. They managed to qualify for playoffs. They finished the league stage at 4th position. Hobart Hurricanes team failed to win the eliminator match and finished the season at 4th position.
