In the upcoming month of January and February 2023, Zimbabwe is going to welcome the West Indies for playing 2 test matches bilateral series. The cricket governing body of both the nations has finalized and declared the dates and venues for the Zimbabwe vs West Indies test series 2023. Both the test matches of the Zim vs WI test series 2023 will be held at Bulawayo Athletic Club, Bulawayo. The test series between Zimbabwe and West Indies 2023 will kick off the journey with the first match from Feb 04, Sat - Feb 08, Wed in Bulawayo and the 2nd match of the series will be played in between Feb 12, Sun - Feb 16, Thu at the same stadium. West Indies will engage with a hometown team of Zimbabwe in a four-day warm-up match from January 28 to January 31 at Bulawayo Athletic Club before the commencing of test series.
Zimbabwe will fight with the West Indies in the series under the leadership of Craig Ervine whereas Kraigg Braithwaite will lead the West Indies series. Currently, West Indies is holding the 8th position whereas Zimbabwe is staying at the 10th position in the ICC Test Team ranking. West Indies is presently ranked sixth in the ICC Test World Cup 2021-23 standings with four victories and five losses, leaving behind Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand. Cricket West Indies has declared Cricket Andre Coley as the temporary head coach for the upcoming test series with Zimbabwe. Following West Indies' surprising elimination from the 2022 T20 World Cup, Phil Simmons expressed his desire to resign as head coach, so Coley will take his position.
